The pre-dawn drive was a bit eventfully, with the last of the moon light, we made our way up the creek through some heavy patches of fog and had some near misses with some snags and crab pot floats in the poor visibility . It wasn’t long before the sun revealed the start of our day.
We were feeling positive with the fish showing up on the sounder,(we only want one or two of these!!!).
I selected my “secret weapon” and sent down a “Lethal Lure” on a mission to reveal those echos on the sounder.
Wasn’t long before Ol’ mate wanted in on the action and started to rattle around my stash of lures and came tight straight up with another touser King
AND ANOTHER…………………………………………………..
As the day warmed up so did the locals, they were friendly enough to get close enough to see their beady eyes, no real big ones, mostly around the 3m mark. Would have seen approx 20 for the morning. Pity the fish weren’t as thick, maybe they ate them all (They looked fat enough)
They accounted for 7 out of 8 King we caught,. We also threw some “Prawn Stars” got plenty of hits and 3-4 hook-ups, but pulled the hooks on all of them.“Lethal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The biggest fish might have been 3-4kg, no record breakers but King for tea tonight.
