Default Good start to the holidays

Me and my mate havn't been able to get a fishing session in for a few weeks now, so hoping we can get some done during these holidays and we managed to fit a short session in on the first day in the afternoon (yesterday).
We took our 15 footer canoe down to a local river in search of bream and decided to use plastics because of their sluggishness in the winter.
It wasn't long before i pulled a small bream to the canoe that put up a good fight for its size when it nearly got itself back into the timber where it came from. My mate then hooked up with something we thougt to be a trevally but when it got a bit closer we realised it was a tailor, he was then a bit more keen to get it into the net before being bitten off.
A little bit further up stream and i sent a cast next to some over-hanging tea tree, after one flick i was on to something that seemed a bit bigger, it got back underneath the tea tree but luckily there wasn't much structure underneath there to bust me off on and with the help of some good paddling by my mate, we managed to bring aboard a 40 cm tip-length bream so not huge but one of the fattest bream i've ever seen. Got a few shots of him then released him. I then finished the day off with a small flatty bout 45cm or so also taken out of the timber.
So it was productive for a short session and hopefully a good sign for the rest of the holidays.

Sorry only got pics of the better bream.

A 40cm bream is something to be proud of, I'd be chuffed to catch one lately. Good stuff DnA.
