Plan was to head outside mate, but white water on the bar changed that plan.
Did a troll for Jacks, water temp was only 20.5 deg and air temp was 16, pretty cold.

this was my first time raising a Whiting, they certainly dont muck about. You can see the Whiting line the lure up then they hit the lure full noise. It was a Dog x jr, for next time I will drop the trebbles down a size. A constant retrieve seems to work best, pausing the lure seemed so spook them and the Bream took more interest.

The MF's work well, they cast a mile. Small slow hops did the damage, the Flatties seemed to love them. I had to run with a heavier leader as several were hooked quite deep

Its a nice rod, I wanted a Dancing Bream with bigger guides or a Loomis 820 over 7 foot and the Samurai 201 was the closest rod I could find to do that job.
I want to use it for flicking small/med lures at rock walls and pontoons

    congrats

I like the action of the mf40's but they seem to foul up and loose their eyes easy. Awesome colour dog x, nice whiting to.. wish there was some whiting surface action in Brissy.

Yeah the eyes only last a few casts, lucky flatties arent the smartest fish.
Bushy was on i Fish a few weeks back, he recomended to feather the line with your finger towards the end of the cast, to keep the lure straight at the end of the cast
