Default What are you doin' up here

    Gday all,

Dad and I went for a run around to German creek yesterday to chase a trumpeter and a crab or two. We started at a spot where we would usually have some sort of success but the wind was just to annoying and strong for the electric to handle, so we went round the corner where there was a great colour change. I got a good hit straight away and as we crept around the corner a bit more dad hook a reasonable fish and we first called it for a trumpeter but as it got closer and we got to see it we were amazing, it was a legal squire.

About two cast later a had a hit and as i dropped it back he took it and stared peeling line, straight away we both called it for another squire just mucking around not thinking there would be anymore but sure enough there he was, a bit smaller and not legal but amazing to see them up the creek so far.

Just after we released mine dad was getting smashed by trevally so I of course though my soft plastic in there and got smashed as well.

As we drifted along we got a few more hits, until i hooked sometinhg in about 10 foot of water, it came straight to the top and i only saw the tail and i though it was another trevally but i was wrong it was quite a nice blue samlon .

As we went round the next bend it looked the same so we had a fish for a bit with no success, so up with the electric and about 1min later we were in our next spot. So we start flicking our plastics and 5 mins later we ended up in a corner where we have seen some king before but this wasn't a king it's a diamond trevally, I have always wanted to catch one but never really expected to.

The successful lures and combo's were 3inch atomic prong in copper flake, 1/6 tt 2/0, and egrell s1 with 1000 pen applause with 6lb fireline 12lb leader did the job for dad, and Bear s2 with a daiwa fuego with 8lb braid and 12lb leader is what i used.

After that we decided to chase a whiting and straight away dad had two before i even got my bait in the water, but I came back with a few good fish.

After getting a few tings we decided to call it a day, and go check the pots.
