Default They should call this place "Variety" !

With cooler weather setting in we decided it was time for a run down the straights for some bream pre-fishing

Started the day off with a lovely little diamond trevally !

Next we came across a good snag that had a school of juvenile jew hang'in off it - which was fun for a while with a fish a cast. They are just like mulloway - only smaller

With so many small ones about I figured there must a better fish in the area, so I upped the lure size to the old faithful 100mm Squidgy fish & found this fella

Also managed half a dozen reasonable flatties up to 68cm

Found this nice tailor harassing some mullet

Once the tide started to run in we headed out to In-skipp to see if there where any tuna to finish off the day - with Katrina wasting no time once located !

You just can't beat longtails on light gear - Or on the table

It was a great day on the water with fantastic variety - although we didn't find a bream between us !

Yep, it can be a pretty horrible day when you can't find the bream, it looks like you kept yourselves entertained though

    Cheers Nath

We saw a dozen patches of LT's working the area inside of the barges towards the bluff - they where patchy & where not staying up for long, so it paid to be patient & sit the bait

It should only get better from now on - Scotto

Aaron - I have had a couple of teething issues with the motor guide - with great back up service to rectify. The lower unit did leak through the built-in temperature sensor & shorted the motor out - with Motorguide air freighting out a new lower unit from the states in a week !

It now appears to be fine & the HDS 5 runs perfectly off the built-in transducer - no messy lead/transducers to worry about.

The HDS 8 on the console with structure scan is awesome - but still getting used to reading the detail - the rest of the boat is exactly what we wanted & exceeds our expectations as far as ride & handling.

We dropped it off at Runaway Bay yesterday for the Haines Group media conference this week - so it will mostly pop up around the mags in coming months as well

    Regards Scotto
