Default A week with visitors Bellinger River

Nephew arrived from Melbourne for a week. Wanted to just visit and try and catch a few fish for a change. Only being going out for a couple hours each day.

Monday was bait fishing for Bream and a bit of a discovery tour.

    Nephew two good bream.

Tuesday a bit of upriver plastic fishing, two flathead in fifteen minutes, no world beaters but about 42cm.

Wednesday a bit of surf fishing and three bream 34, 35 and 38cm.

Thursday a trip to the big lolly shop and a few purchases, then the tourist trip to Thora and Dorrigo.

Today just a quick trip up to the surf for a small salmon about 48cm.

Saturday a bit of lure fishing upriver to catch a decent flathead.

Lots of flathead in the river with a few jews arounds as well.

Its great when you can introduce someone new to a system and the plan falls into place. The system is very crystal clear and a few fish available to the observant angler. Caught the odd few myself as well. But just great to share what we have.

    Regards

    Pete,

Not in ours, but some of the boys have been getting some good ones at the usual spots.

Been a good week, though, it was his first with plastics and somehow think he took a bit of info on board.

Now Darren's (Nephew) talking about coming north with us next year. That makes another lost cause.

    Another tragic.

Very consistent in the river at the moment, just take a little local knowledge to get onto a few. Lots of good lays and good flathead in the weeds right up to Fernmount.

Bream in the surf and near the mouth have been regular.

Salmon just about at any stage of the tide, Pilchards (Pieces and white), Worms and Pippis.

Just a nice time on the water.

    Regards

    Trev
