    Default Got my mojo back

Hit the goldie early sunday morning hoping for a Tarpon, bait was hard to get but managed a silver biddie and a few poddy mullet. Got to my spot and spotted 2 swimming around and sight casted a livie at em and was on straight away. 49cm Tarpon straight up on 2kg Moved after no action for a few hours and found some GT's busting up some bait, first cast of the prawnstar and whack a 42cm GT.

    Cheers, Mick.

Hi! 84mick. Where did you catch that Tarpon? Is that the same mungrel fish we get up here in the tropics (Darwin)?

They are in all my favourite Barra fishing spots up here in the Top End and all I seem to catch is these buggers - what I really want is a Barra or two!!!

Hi! Chewy. Thats the reason I don't like the buggers. They seem to be everywhere and they grab everything I throw at Barra's. All I really want is a BARRA!!!!

    How hard is that???

Are Barras likely to get sick of them soon and start looking for more tempting things like soft plastics, hard lures, etc???

Hahaha...yea mate probably..Im going out on a limb here, and if its anything like down here, the tarpon will be in a hole somewhere. The Barra will be just around them somewhere, if you have a sounder, keep an eye out for football shapes on or near the bottom. as oppsed to arches. Id be tring to drift past where the schools are, with a Large clear PrawnStar just bouncing it up opp the bottom. Works ok up in mackay.

Think you might be right!! Happy is trying to talk me into a Humminbird Side Immaging Sonar to check out where the buggers are hiding!!!

Trouble is I'm having trouble convincing the "Finance Manager" that spending a couple of thou to catch a fish is value!! Her argument is that sort of money would buy a "sh&it load of fish from the local fish shop"!!!

    Where too from here????

Has anyone got the winning combination to next weeks lotto????

Think I will go fishing again this weekend - just in case a Barra decides to give up on Tarpon!!!

    I just might get lucky!!!

Gilly you should bring the fly rod along with you and make the most of it. I love tarpon on fly and are super hard to stay connected too once airborn, plus there's always the bonus of hooking a barra aswell he..he.he....he...

Maybe a live tarpon would tempt a barra if you are desparate and dont mind using bait.

Mick, a barra is a barra - I'm not fussed on how i get the bugger!

My misses luves eating them - so I'm destined to catch them.

By fair means or fowl - I don't care.

Thanks for the tip. Cheers - Gilly.
