Unlucky Ben. Was the waterway busy when you hit the spots? I find that place best during the night times when its all calm and quiet. You can hear the boofing and surface action very prominently.

It wasn't to bad hey, but yes heaps of boofs everywhere and baitfish getting hammered! Was good to see and hear, but I couldn't tempt them with anything! I will have to try a night session one day there!

    Agreed with Chris.

I would usually drop about 2-3 before hooking (and landing) 1 successfully. They are great fighting fish and had most luck with surface walkers and small SP. A mate of mine once threw a massive popper (meant for offshore GT) at them and they actually attempted to smash that too. Im pretty sure that there are some big ones around in the canals and seaway.

If you still fish Coomera, send me a pm. I'll tell you a landlocked spot for tarpon. I got em on HBs up to 65cm.
