    Default tweed trevs

Conditions not the best for the yak but have been having some fun at night. The trevs have been slowing down now, i am only landing around three each trip. I am fishing for 30 mins to an hour on the change of the high tide and am getting enough hits and surface strikes to keep things interesting. The bridge is a little quiet apart from a few good strikes on the livies. I did raise a 70 to 80cm jew and a similar length flatty on the 6lb fireline but pulled the hooks on them both while trying to winch them up. Was disappointed to not get a pic, but they were good fights and it was good to see them swim away. Hopefully next week should be good for chasing macks.

Nice work Chris!! 3 trevs in one session is still plenty of fun especially on light gear.

Just out of curiousity, what is your recipe for the trevs?
I go fishing not to find myself but to lose myself...

Cant speak for carn.. but whenever I have caught trevs that size, they really havnt been too bad in the pan hey, as long as they are bled straight away, iced and eaten fresh. They tend to suffer freezer burn fairly easily and dont eat too well after a long stint in the freezer. Smaller ones like those guys definitely taste better than the larger ones for sure

Yeah Luke the smaller big eyes are def nicer that the bigger ones. I give them to the mother in law; stay in the good books. I usually let them go but since i caught the GT and was filleting anyway, i decided to keep the smaller ones. I like the GT sliced thin and crumbed.
