I heard a rumor a few weeks ago that some jacks were getting caught in a spot over winter, and cold mornings seemed to be when they were biting more.
I fished Noosa last weekend in the morning and had a top morning, every thing went perfectly, got there ½ hour before light and fished till 12, casts were going right were I wanted them, every thing was great. Got 1 flaty and 1 good GT but no Jack, not even a hit. TropicalTrout / Nath fished after 2pm and got a few and saw another landed.
My question is…. Winter Jacks, is the best time cold mornings??? (I’d not have thought so), mornings or afternoons. I’m thinking maybe afternoons after the waters heated up maybe better.
My sounder temperature was 14 C when I put the yak in and rose even before the sun came up to about 16, (which may have something to do with it being mounted in silicon inside the hull) and around 18 by the time I left.
