gday guys.
with the weather looking good for the weekend, me and a couple of mates decided to go to tin can bay saturday on sunday to to some land based fishing
saturday morning me and one of my mates started off in the boat and went up snapper creek, with the tides being the highest of the year, we werent too confident. we did a few drifts in the creek and didnt get any fish, lost a nice flathead, due to really bad reaction times
so we arranged to meet a few friends on the bank, we put the boat back on and away we went.
for the day we thought we might go chase some bream around pylines and oyster covered rocks, and some tarpon later in the day.
using an egrell s2 matched with the new freams 2500, with the rcs 2506 spool, 6 pound nanofil and 8/10 pound leader.
didnt take very long to get into it with a couple of my mates landing 3 good tarpon within half an hour, the biggest going just under 50cm.
we hooked many fish but they either spat the hook with acrobatic abilities or rubbed us off which was very iritating, because i had never landed one before.
we walked back up the creek a little chasing some bream and travis nailed a nice baby jack, and a couple of little bream to us all. we got busted off many times this weekend on heavy and light gear.
in the end there were trevally, jew, tarpon, flathead, bream and jack being landed, very fun weekend and cant wait till next time
cheers, kurt
