Neil, they taste best straight out of the pot mate, I cant help my-self, and pinch the legs.
make sure you plunge them in a ice slurry of sea water after cooking, to stop the process.
They will keep for a few days, put them in a sealed container with a plastic trivet or similar in the bottom so they dont sit in their own juices, I allways clean mine straight after cooking and break in quaters
I do as per Mick, sea water ice slurry when i catch them

allways sea water mate, but its at the end of the street for me.
fresh water with sea salt would do at a pinch I spose, but getting the mix right would be hard.
just bring a bucket of water home with you at the end of the trip?

Gunna be another trip of dislikes, crab pots in my boat grrrrr and now taking a non fisher so bait in the boat too. Whats next I wonder.

Oh I forgot to mention I got pulled up in the green zone just past lime pocket. They said I couldnt have baited pots on my deck whilst in the green zone. I can understand why but my whole boat is cast deck LOL.

They let me go with a warning. After me explaining the whole dont like crabbing but its what you do to keep the wife happy lol.
