I keep my rod at about 2 oçlock and use my wrist to pop. Constant movement all the way.

These D.O.A cup head popper things are good. You can insert any plastic that fits inside the popper head, put in a worm hook and youré away.
Sorry, cant remember what they're called, but they are a D.O.A product.
You can pop em or they will snake along just under the surface.
You could always add a tiny treble onto the worm hook.

    Trevally like ém alot.

I got mine from Hooked on Angling at Tewantin.

I'm sure any good tackle store will get them in for now.

What ever size plastic fits inside the head.

Hook size is determined by the size of plastic you use.

Personally, I've found 3" and 5'' placcies work the best.

I've noticed when chasing whiting some sessions they bump and bump and bump and just never hook up.
These are in the same area's where the same tide a couple of days either side see's me hooking up every second cast.
I've not found a true answer for it myself, but my suspicion is maybe they are not actively feeding at the time, or that the popper is 'out of place' that day.
ie. If there are no prawns about and the whiting are only feeding on worms that day, the popper might not match how they are feeding? They still have a look but don't quite commit...
