    Default Fish'in with Dad!

    G'day all,

Come mid-morning my casting arm became rather twitchy which forced my being to the shed to drag out some soft plastics and a rod to go fishing in the rusty water.

Drawing closer to the water, I thought it'd be great if Dad could join me, and for him to show me some of his Flatty grounds to which he has been landing quite a few of late.

At 66 he still inspires me to be adventuous as he always has. We were fishing the sand flats at Caloundra in the Pumicestone Passage walking mostly in knee high water along the flats. To reach one spot though, we had to cross the main channel. With the ebbing tide quickly dropping we moved swiftly, trying to find weedy areas where Flatty's like to reside before the turn of the tide.

This channel looked to be over head, however this wasn't going to hold the 'ol boy back in any way. Our shirts came off, beenies were left on with gear bags and rods held high as we made our way across. The water came over our shoulders with Dad losing a packet of plastics as they fell from his bag.

Unfortunately no Flatty's were caught, however I did manage to land this 40cm Bream using a ZMan StreakZ soft plastic.

I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

    Cheers Dave
