Hit up the river saturday morning on the hunt for Jew. Bryan and I were on the water by around 5:15. With nothing really rigged up we pulled up a fair bit before our spots and just drifted rigging up. We spotted alot of good arches on the sounder and so we quickly rigged up and dropped down as the sounder lit up with another big show of fish and bait. Bang first cast bryan was on to a small soapie of around 40cm. It was pretty much a hit a cast and we boated around 5-6 little ones.
We let them be and headed into a couple other holes. Bryan hooked up and brought a nice jewie of around 65 to the boat and as it did a couple circles of the boat it pulled the hook out... bugger! I then threw out and had the light tap and a bit of weight but once I loaded the rod up on it threw it. Few more drifts and bryan hooked up again to another jewie then went 62cm Few minutes after I hooked up to a 63cm model . Plenty of other trevally inbetween fish but once the tide kicked over it was pretty quiet. Then bryan hooked a huge stingray which was a bit of tug of war for 25 minutes not knowing 100% if it was a ray or not he didn't want to pull the pin on it.
Sunday we hit the river again but the jew were no where to be seen. Plenty of trevally around and up a few creeks but fairly cold and quiet. We were chatting away talking about winter jacks then bang what do you know I picked up a little winter jackie.
