Well let me just say, I LOVE WALPOLE!
My mission was to wade and wade..... and wade i did! Between girlfriend and mate comitments on my holiday I got out twice on the Nornalup Inlet and 4 times on the Walpole Inlet.
Nornalup Inlet, what worked for me after an hour of chucking sx's and zipbait for one hit and no hookup was the change to the sandworm. From the time of the change to the camo wormy's it was on... In the two two hour sessions I got over 20 bream to 38cm, 7 king george whiting all over 30cm and heaps of pesky herring and Salmon trout. The only fish I didn't get that was the elusive Giant herring, next time eh?!
Walpole Inlet, This is where i got over 80 bream to 41cm. What a place, my flats spot that worked for me last trip didn't fail. Depending on the tide movement the bream were in different locations and soon i had the movements worked out. Gold Sx 40's killed the pig and got me a heap in all sizes. Gold Sx 48's got me less but they were all biggies. Zipbait Khamsin Jr worked like majik after the sun went down and got me my 41er and many more, even when i was busy adjusting my reel for a while and it was just floating four meters away it got hammered... I definetly need to get myself more of these big bream catchers. Last of all sandworms in camo and natural got a few but not as many as the Hardbodies...
This trip I couldn't get into any blue spot flathead, i wonder where they were all hiding??
I will be heading to Walpole/Nornalup whenever i can get away for a super bream fix, so if any of you perth breamers are heading there let me know if you have a spare seat .
