    Default Maroochie River

    Quick Fishing Report:

Spent 30mins at the mouth of the maroochydore river on Sat (25th May) fishing the run out. It was almost dead low, and time was about 3pm. The water was dam cold and a strong Sthly blowin. I was just behind the Cotton Tree Caravan Park (the wind at my back). It was busy with lots of kit surfers but I nailed 2 nice flatties in that short time. All were caught right at my feet in about 1m of water.

4lb braid, 15lb leader, 1/4onuce jig head, 3in Nuclear Chicken.

The flatties were about 45cm long each …… (It was probably the same fish !).

    Cheers

    Thanks Gents,
Yes deep water still there. In summer I have caught travelly in this deeper water. It is located on the inside of the sand spit, good spot on a run tide as the water spills over the spit dumping food etc into the channel. All within easy casting distance.
Also try the Cod Hole, this is within casting distance too, (under the Sunny Motorway bridge).
    Cheers
    Trent
