Anglers have reported that the Swan and Canning have been producing some great breaming sessions in the last couple of weeks. Upstream the snags are holding the bigger bream with people getting quite a few fish from the one snag. Downstream your bag can fill up pretty quick with a cocktail of flatfish, tarwhine and whiting. The chopper schools have decreased in numbers but a few are still been pulled on ganged baitfish under the bridges (and Zipbait lures by Hypertackle).
Crabs have been a bit hit and miss in the past month. Mandurah has been a day trip to many people chasing a few of these delicious buggers and many have come home ready to change the blues into a reds. My suggestion is to hit some of the less talked about marinas around Perth and you might be suprised what is scavenging beneath. Just use any fish scraps and chook pellets and you should have some scent attracting the clawed ones in no time. If you do stumble on a blue swimmer goldmine keep it hush and it will be seafood for you for a while yet .
take care
