    Default Harries again 13/6/14

Friday 13th and full moon - better go fishing. Nothing bad will happen today. So a solo trip out to Harries with a forecast of variable to 10 knots.
Arrived at 1pm with a low at 3.30pm. Didn't expect much - falling tide is not the best at Harries. Ran around for 30 minutes or so and couldn't find any bait schools - things are not looking good. Hopefully will be better when the tide changes.
So off to check a couple of spots for the same results. Back to Harries at 4pm and the tide was on the run in. Bait school located - rods deployed. 10 minutes later and the teltale zzzzzzzzzzzzz and head shake of Mr Snapper. PB of 81cm. Yehaa.
Time to start a new drift. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz again. Took a bit longer to get this one to the side of the boat and it is bigger than the 81 and won't fit in the net. So out come the boga grips but in the process I manage to pop the leader. Had to be released anyway but would have loved a photo.

In skinny water I'd agree with you mate but Harries is around 60feet. The tide is much more critical. As you know I am a fan of gentleman's hours. I always drift and stay away from the rattling anchor chains. After I dropped the bigger fish 6 boats came over and anchored up on my drift line. Had too good a day to give them a gob full so I left them to it.
