It an effort to do my bit in the wake of the other thread, here's my first report for 2018.
I fish way more than I report, but lack of time often doesn't permit posting about it. However, I am going to make an effort to make more time.
New Years Day saw me raise the 9 and 5 yr olds out of bed at a leisurely 0430, boat was in the water at Port of Brisbane by 0545. The plan was to put the tin-lids onto a spotty in the Bay.
A run across in the best conditions I have ever had in the Bay and we were throwing slugs at the 4 beacons an hour before the high. The full moon saw a raging current and a battery issue had me nervous about using spot-lock for too long.
90 mins of casting for nigh a bump had the boys itching for a change of scenery, so over to the wrecks it was. A quick stickybeak around there and we moved up to the barge landing to let the kids runs some energy off up the sandhill.
Out to the main channel beacons for another 20 mins casting at each one - and the wind was getting up a bit so we headed for the comfort of the river mouth. Wind against tide.....bugger.
Spent 30 mins flicking plastics along the sunken wall, and the net result for the day has born the title to this post.
