uneventful cairns inlet

With perfect weather forecast for Saturday, i decided to head out into the inlet nice and early and throw some lures around while scouring the bottom with some live bait..
Live bait was pretty scarce and we had to search three or four spots before getting enough mullet and prawn.
Unfortunately there was not alot of action all morning, maybe the water is just too turbulent at the moment or we were holding our tongues wrong but it just wasnt happening. Caught one small hammerhead shark and one crab!!!!
Any Cairns anglers got any ideas in fishing the inlet successfully???
