Only caught one myself, abt 7kg - must see if I have an old photo to scan. Caught it in the deep hole at Inskip. Trouble with that spot is you only get 10mins at each change of the tide. Some blokes used to chase them at a certain time of the year but my memory is not what it was so I can't say when. I suspect that it may have been at spawning time - like trout.

    3Macks,

I think you are referring to the 'cod hole' and it seems to be fishing hot and cold at the momment according to a few reports from those that fish it regularly.

Now, I'm not saying we should invoke capital punishment for Stupidity, but how about we just take all the warning labels off everything and let nature sort itself out?

How Good is the Bay & straights - so many options - so little time

It should really fire up in the next month - what to chase next - Scotto
So Many Fish - So little time !

3macks,apollo-Have never put the effort into the hole on the slack tide yet. Always have plans of it but as usual somethin gets in the way. Can picture some serious jew down there though...Seen some good spanish and plenty of noahs around the tuna round the barges through to the bluff.
Gotta love the straits scotto. Too many options big fella.

    Steve,
Maybe that is the current name but I fished there with Noah. I suppose it is like the logging ramp - real name is Poverty Point. I can't help wondering if the old horse drawn grader is still at Poverty Point. We used to take row boats in through the black swamp off the Rainbow Beach Road to Poverty Point.

Saw some good country out off the bluff one day when slumming it because we couldn't get down the beach to Double Island. One looked like an axehead upside down. No fish that day and we never went back.
