Default Had a crack at the Daintree

Tried the Daintree River today for a change in scenery. Pretty steady day with a GT early, some small Jacks and Cod. Missed a few, seemed like the fish were a bit half-hearted, just coming out to see the lure rather than hit it. Except for a rather large Barrcuda my eldest son hooked trolling a bank. Didn't really play up much even on the Barra gear, but then I haven't had one this big put up much fight in my experience. Anyway not a bad day out, but shit it was hot!

    Cheers,
    Dusty

    Dusty,
Nice barracuda, good to see the young bloke hook something big.
The reef seemed the same Friday, very picky with the limited current (2oz of lead in 20m was heaps)

Good to see you catching a few fish. Its amazing how big the cuda get in the creeks. I have nailed a few good specimens like that before on the barra gear as well. They must scare the bejesus out of the local mullet populations
