Started out down at Caloundra fishing with a mate (known as Nugget) in his tinny. We hit bells creek flats first and in spite of a lot of follows, some good bust ups and a stack of hits I only brought two bream into the boat, nugget lucked out.
We then moved in pelican waters canals. Nugget hooked up to a monster something, but it shook the hook free and went on its way. After trying a few spots down there we gave up and decided to head out into the passage. Whilst on the way out we saw some trevs going nuts so we pulled on over for a few casts. I managed to hook up on a small trev within moments of my lure hitting the water, which I landed easy enough. Nugget JUST missed hooking a decent 50cm+ trev on his bream outfit, bugger.
We moved out into the passge and tried the flats out there, not a single hit. Though we did see what looked to be a 1m+ long tom cruising around quite liesurely... We gave up at that point as it was midday, getting hot and we were feeling a bit defeated.
After I stopped at a couple of tackle shops, beefys pies and came home to chill out for a bit I went out in my kayak in the Maroochy canals... Ended up doing quite well... 2-3 bream, 3 flatties, a tiny tailor and a grunter plus a bunch of missed hits... Paddled about 6-7km all up, good excercise.
Note: I didn't photograph everything, I think 1-2 I left out *shrug*.
A couple of the mornings fish at Caloundra
Fish from the yak - The only downside is having to paddle to the edge to get a decent shot on the brag mat.
This flatty fought well against my lightweight bream gear
