Default morning fish in the P. Passage

Decided last night that a early morning fish was in order.

Jump out of bed with a startle when I saw the clock saying 6:10. Woke the lad with a lets go fishing whisper ( gotta love the face of a sleepy/ excited boy) lol

Half way to the ramp I get a weather report saying the time was 5:30. WOOPS read the clock wrong. haha

Launched the boat round to my first spot first cast bang I got smashed I didnt think this thing was gunna stop. After a great fight I land a PB trevally @ 55cm.

After a few hours of many hits and a few Flatties landed we decide another spot was in order. Silly dad decides we can just make a short cut over the weed bed. About a 3rd of the way across we come to a halt so out we get and start pushing. As you could guess we didnt make the other side before the hull was sucking to the bank. After much grunting and goaning we turn her around and went back where we come from .

Tried other spots with little luck, all and all a great day on the water.

Bring home tally for the day one trevor and one 47cm flattie.

Oh and anyone got a good way of cooking trevally? I dont normally bring home different fish but wanted to try a trevor ( been getting mixed reports on quality)

I just batter them up and they taste ok. Actually I caught one a while back and someone on the boat reckon it was only good for the MIL, so I did. Batter, lemon and chucky chips and she loved it - Guess they were right!
Now, I'm not saying we should invoke capital punishment for Stupidity, but how about we just take all the warning labels off everything and let nature sort itself out?

Small trevally come up nice hot smoked whole to keep its juices in, fillet it then smoke it and it dries too much. Simple bleed, then wipe down with a wet towel to remove any slime etc, then into the smoker fresh and whole.

I've heard that very fresh trevally makes decent sashimi.
I haven't yet tested the theory but I intend to.
