As my parents thought i didn't have school today i took my chance to go to Wood Gate and Burrum for a first visit. After arriving we sat down and had lunch at the beach, finishing lunch i drove up to Burrum River, luckily i took my plastic combo as the water/ rocky ledges looked great for a flathead or 2 to hanging around. I first caught a small estuary cod near a submerged tree and then a legal dusk flathead a few meter's away from it. Both great fun on the 1-3kilo rod. After losing a few hooks i gave up and got back in the car to explore more of Wood Gate. I found a large creek going past the pub and put a few flicks into it. It was a interesting creek as everyone there were pumping yabbies so i walked a bit more down while flicking and people were just catching decent whiting (at this point i wish i grabbed my whiting plastics). Another group caught a flathead but i didn't get a clear view on how big it was. I didn't get a touch so walked back to the car and drove back home with mum happy with the flathead for dinner.
Cheers JT
