Cheers Ben

Ben..
Try the little freshwater lagoons in Gladdy for barra mate. The river through rocky has lots of access tracks to it. Keppel Sands I will report on Sunday and let ya know.
All options from Rocky north wear long pants through the scrub and watch out for snappin handbags.St Lawrence is also worth a shot from the rail bridge you can take a track heading back to the highway from on the right. There are several track down to the river that has rock bars throughout it. Fish the low or as the water comes over the rock bars with poppers, fizzers and shallow divers. Placcies may even be worth a go there. Been some good fish caught there over the years. River at Mackay west of the bruce highway bridge on the northern side has a rock bar there on low worth a look. Pools around there. Dont get caught out by the incoming tide though it fills extremely quickly.
I am assuming you are taking the coastal route to Dysart.
Finally got one
Is there any other way to get there..?
Ben..
gladstone area at benaraby ha s2 spots that are great for land based as the big barra hold out around the rock bars in both areas under the bridges which cross over the boyne river ,you cant me=iss both of them on way up coast .first at benaraby before turnoff to gladstone then the other is a few k on towards rocky on bruce highway
You can go up through Bilo,Ben.Probably 80 odd k's further. But you could have a look at Callide.

I was going to suggest that spot. I once drove my 4WD down under the bridge (was a pretty steep and rough old track though) and flicked a few lures there off the rocks. Managed a couple of strikes/hook ups in the short time I was there. The spot certainly looks fishy.
