Default Anyone interested in some yabbies

    Hi Everyone
Just pumped 100+ yabbies this afternoon to go fishing in the morning however, bit of an emergency has come up and I can't go, if anyone is interested in taking them off my hands for free give me a call on my mobile 0432643388, I live at Narangba on Brisbane northside, I will keep them till 10.30 tomorrow before I return them to the water.

would of taken them off your hands but I believe it maybe a tad damp tomorrow, so don’t want to risk it. There was a post up a while ago about freezing them try and find it for a look if you have the time just had a look Chewy started it called preserving yabbies

Bugger, bugger. Haven't been able to pump (yet) due to medical reasons but other commitments ruled out taking your most generous offer. Should you wish to pump some more next week, how many six packs are required to secure them.

To bad you couldn't take em mate, next time I go fishing down Donnybrook way I will give you a call if you send me your number, and I will pump some extra for you and you can pick them up at Donnybrook ramp if that suits you, happy to help you out until you get back on your feet.

Ron, thanks for the offer, I'm seeing the quack today and hope to get the all clear, next have to build up the muscle tone so I can land the big ones so a bit of pumping should do me some good otherwise I'll have to use the electric reel on the Whiting.

We have been freezing Yabbies for a couple of decades.
    The fresher the better.
Drain all water and place yabbies in single layer in the likes of clean Ice Cream container, and only half cover with Metho and put lid on for about 4 to 6 minutes.
The fumes more than the metho is the ideal.
Drain Metho and place in clean Butter/Marg container and freeze.

When you go fishing, you may lose about 5 metres on a surf cast.
Somedays the frozen ones will outfish the fresh ones and vice versa.
If only fishing for a few hours, return yabbies to freezer and reuse.
Have done this, up to three times
Fish for the future! Fish for your Grandchildren.
