Default Welcome to Egrell Designz Fishing Rodz

In todays fishing rod market, the amount of fishing rods available is enormous to say the least. Most rods these days are commercially produced such as Loomis and Daiwa. But what happens when you have a big name rod builder who opts to go out on his own. Well, you get Egrell Rodz.

Eric and Deb who are the team behind Egrell Dezignz reside at Bribie Island, QLD. Eric has been a rod builder for the best rod companies in the world including Loomis and Strudwick to name a few and has just gone out on his own to deliver quality built rods that perform under pressure. These two rods are 'The Egrell' & 'The BeaR'.

"The BeaR" is in the medium price bracket which ranges from approximately $340 to $380 per rod. The "BeaR" Rods extend from the S1-7 which is your ultra light breaming and trout outfit through to your extra heavy 10 - 15kg spin sticks which is designed more for your bigger style spin fishing from tailor, salmon and tuna to bottom bouncing plastics for reds etc. The baitcaster has not been forgotten about at all, with the B2 model which is your 2 - 4kg outfit all the way up to the B8-6 an 8-12kg, which is your heavier style baitcasting rod. Most of the Rods in both ranges are 7 foot in which Eric believes is the ideal length rod to gain maximum casting distance with light lures and maintaining finesse fishing methods. The shorter rods are dezigned more for the Barra style fishing.

'The Egrell' style rods are your pro tournament outfit.. Designed for tournament fishing and for anglers who need a rod which will give the utlimate in performance and sensitivity. These rods are built to the cutting edge of technology. The range extends from the lightest of Bream Spin Rodz through to the powerful S10 Snapper/Tuna Rod. For those who prefer the Baitcaster, there is a rod to match the same style. As all rodz are application specific, there is sure to be a rod to suit. See http://www.egrell.com.au/gpage.html for a full range of 'The Egrell' style rods.

So what is the real difference between 'The Egrell' & 'The BeaR'? The difference is all in the blank. The Egrell Range is of High Modulus Graphite that uses MRT(Modulus Replacement Technology), while "The BeaR" range is of an Intermediate Modulus Graphite. They both have carbon Helix Scrims to give them extra hoop strength and both have the exclusive "Egrell Casting Tip". The Egrell range is dezigned with the idea of taking technology to it's limits to give the utmost in sensitivity and performance. Where "The BeaR" Range has been dezigned to be a little more forgiving while still using a full graphite material. The two ranges each have their own benefits and features, with every rod being built to a high standard of quality for maximum performance.

Egrell Dezignz offer a full replacement warranty with their Rods for the first six months of purchase to original owner. Warranty is limited to original rod only. Original rod and receipt must be presented for all warranty claims. Following Initial six months, Egrell Dezignz offer a lifetime Rebuild on all Rods at cost price for parts and postage only, to the original owner. Replacement Rods covered by lifetime Rebuild only.

To read more about Egrell Dezignz rods, please visit http://www.egrell.com.au/ where you can contact both Eric and Deb. At present the rods can only be purchased at Sundown Marine, however expansion to other tackle stores is iminent.

If you really want a well built rod by a true custom rod crafter/designer with over 25 years fishing experience in the industry, you can not ignore Egrell Dezignz. As their motto says 'Fish Well - Fish Egrell !!!!!'.

I'm proud to say that for those on the West Coast, they are now available through JiggyJigs.com

A chat with Eric is enough to show how much passion he has for the sport and the blank technology is pretty incredible and something exclusive to Egrell Designz.

My first lot of Egrell rods arrived late yesterday...and to say I'm pleased in an understatement.

The craftsmenship and component quality on these rods is second to none and the prices are impossible to go past. Anyone who has been remotely contemplating looking at one should do themselves a favour and check them out.

As you can probably tell I'm stoked to have these rods...so I will stop rambling now...lol

Hi Ian.
There is a model on the list I have called the Poppa Bear, but it's rated 10-15kg. However, the S10's fish well outside there line rating so I'd say these more than likely will too.

I'm not entirely sure Eric is still making them and I'll leave it up to him to reply, however if they do I'm happy to sort you out with one. At a guess they'd be up to around $400.00.

Hope this helps mate.

Dave

Stepped into Tackle World here in TSV the other day on my lunch break, and was shown a quite old EGrell rod. Immediately recognised the grip, although the guides were quite different. Can't remember exactly which model, but it was blue in colour, and was very powerful and light. A sweet looking bit of kit. Rod was tagged for pickup by a Rod Harrison.........
